Goofy's Barnstormer

More Chef Mickey pics

Jake giving Goofy a high five

Daddy tickling Jake, trying to keep the bugger entertained while we waited

Anderson and Mommy

This is how Jake spends most of his time waiting in Disney...even outside in the heat on the cement. One day we'll look back and laugh.

My ever so patient and handsome husband who has spent the past five days pushing 100 lbs. of toddlers and sh!t around in 100 degree heat.

Waiting to be called in for breakfast

Meeting Mickey. I love how Jake has his cheeks stuffed with food, it's classic Jake!

The crew with Goofy.

You can see how excited Anderson is about these characters.

Family Pic

This morning we had breakfast at Chef Mickeys. Kev and I were a little apprehensive about how Jake would do but things worked out great. He has had either no interest or fear toward the characters in the park so far, but today he loved them. He was literally loving up on them with hugs and kisses. Anderson had an absolute blast. He was clapping, dancing, talking to them and just full of excitement. The boys got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto. Goofy seemed to be pleased that the boys and Grant all had his shirt on.

Dinner in Mexico

Excitedly waiting to ride the boat in Mexico

Anderson giving his famous "cheese"-y squished eye smile

Anderson and Jake enjoyed their time at Epcot. Their favorite ride by far was Nemo. We rode that three times and they still asked for more. Thankfully we were able to walk right on that ride everytime. They also enjoyed the boat rides in Norway and Mexico. We had nice dinner in Mexico, watched the Chinese acrobats, and had fun visiting the countries. The adult highlight was Soaring. Soaring is a ride that makes you feel like you are actually flying. It really was amazing.
Kevin and I had a brush with celebrity....sorta. We are big fans of the TLC show Little People Big World and we actually saw a couple that have been featured on the show. They were a couple who adopted a little person named Chance. He was born with some major disabilities beyond being little and Matt Roloff's charity helped make his adoption possible. We rode the boat with Chance and his family in Mexico. Chance looked at me :).
Did I mention the lice....(yes, those disgusting little bugs that eat away on your scalp)? The strep throat scare? Or the three trips in total that have been made to Urgent care since we arrived? I guess I was having too much fun. Maybe more on that later.

Receiving our "first time to Disney world" pin

First ever Disney pin for trading. Jake chose Mike and Sulley. Anderson chose Buzz and Woody.

Our Disney trip has been an interesting one so far. The day before we left I noticed Jake was acting a bit out of character. He seemed a little run down but he didn't have a fever and his appetite was good but I was still feeling a bit unsettled about him. We had to wake the boys up at 4 a.m. the day we left. They were chattering and happy as can be on the way to the airport, their excitement was precious.

Take off went well, both Anderson and Jake sat in their car seats and enjoyed the sights and sensations that go with flying. About halfway through the flight Jake started to feel really warm, he was extremely sleepy and didn't want a snack. He never turns down a snack. I offered him everything I had but he refused and he didn't want to get out of his seat. Things were not looking good.
After we landed, got to our house and settled in we gave Jake some Motrin. His fever was over 102 at this point. I laid him down to nap and he slept like a rock for a few hours. After he woke we took him to the pediatric urgent care. The dr. said his throat, ears and nose all looked good and that he just had a virus. That was a relief, by the next day he was feeling and acting much better.
On Saturday we headed to Disney studios. The boys LOVED Playhouse Disney! They had so much fun dancing and singing with Mickey, Handy Manny, Little Einstiens and Winnie the Pooh. That was definitely the highlight of their day! We took them to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater. Anderson enjoyed it, Jake was a little shell shocked. He glued himself onto me and never took his eyes off either car in case they were planning something sinister. As the boys would say "it makes me a little nervous, Mom".
We came home for a nap in the afternoon and returned around dinner time. The boys spent time in Honey I shrunk the kids and got to ride the new Toy Story ride. Standing in line for rides has been quite the challenge. Anderson is pretty patient and finds constructive ways to keep himself busy. Jake, on the other hand, is a totally different story. He hangs and climbs onto the railings, he bumps into other people, tries to run up ahead and finds any other mischief he can to bring us to our knees. There have been some extremely dicey moments thus far while standing in line. Thankfully the longest line we've had to wait in was 45 minutes. Never again though, at least not on this trip. It's fast pass or forget it.

The Wiggles Concert

Showing off their new Wiggles shirts

Last night we took the boys to their first ever concert to see Sam (Greg to the boys), Murray, Jeff and Anthony. They did not disappoint. I ordered them some t-shirts off eBay so they could show their fanmanship and they did. They spent most of the day before carrying around their shirts, touching each character and asking me all kinds of silly questions about each Wiggle, Wags, Henry and Dorothy. They had Wiggles on the brain.
The boys loved every second...the long walk down the stairs to our seats, playing in all the empty seats, talking to the children around them, singing and dancing to their favorite songs and cuddling up on our laps. They clapped along, yelled out the lyrics and LOVED waking up Jeff. They were extremely excited when Sam (Greg) came into the crowd to give five and wave hello. Greg is their favorite Wiggle, but he is no longer a member of the Wiggles due to health reasons. His replacement is Sam, but the boys didn't seem to notice and loved Greg (Sam) nonetheless.
