Home Pregnancy test POSITIVE!! We are excited but in total disbelief. I take a test for the next 10 days every day because we still can't believe its true!

First BETA blood test to confirm pregnancy. Results are 904! A singleton pregnancy at this point would have average results of 70-200. Nurse confirms that twins are a definite possibilty but we won't know for sure till our first ultrasound on my mom's birthday, June 5th 2006. We spend the next two weeks happy but so nervous that something could go wrong. When you wait so long for something like we did, you just become convinced that it will never be.

Our first ultrasound at 6 weeks and 2 days reveals two strong heartbeats! We get to take home pictures of the twins, you can't see much more than a blob, but of course we think our blobs are beautiful! Kevin and I are so relieved and after the relief sets in we are insanely excited. We want to run and tell everyone but we know it is still so early and we are still cautious. Over the next couple of weeks we share the news with our parents and siblings. There are many looks of disbelief followed by tearful embraces. Those first few weeks still seem so surreal.

We had another appointment to check on the twins progress. I am currently 8 weeks 6 days and the babies are measuring 8 weeks 6 days and 9 weeks 2 days. My mom is convinced it is a boy and girl because on of the twins is a little bit bigger than the other. I guess we'll just have to wait and see till end of Aug/Sept when we find out. Our next appointment will be on July 10 when I will be a little over 11 weeks.
